Mike Compagnoni is known for his expertise in state and local contract procurement as well as issues related to business development, transportation, information technology, local government, workers’ compensation, insurance, and the auto industry. He is also widely respected for his skills in political fundraising and campaign management.


Before joining Midwest Strategy Group, Mike served as a Legislative Director in the Michigan House of Representatives, managing the passage of legislation, drafting policy initiatives, and testifying in committees. He worked heavily in several House committees including Transportation, Energy and Technology, Judiciary, and Commerce.


Mike’s broad campaign experience allows him to be an effective advocate for a variety of issues in Lansing. Mike has staffed elections at nearly every level, from federal to state and local. During past election cycles he managed a regional field office covering a large portion of Southeast Michigan including parts of Oakland and Macomb Counties. He has additional experience in fundraising, campaign strategy, graphic design, and volunteer coordination. He also has served as an elected precinct delegate and been active with several local political and civic organizations in the Southeast Michigan Region.


Mike attended Albion College, receiving a B.A. in Political Science and a concentration in Public Policy from the Gerald R. Ford Institute of Public Policy and Service. He graduated from Albion Magna Cum Laude and was awarded Phi Beta Kappa Honors.
