Mike Krombeen’s understanding of policy and politics has allowed him to excel in various government related roles. He is respected for his work on issues ranging from appropriations, to healthcare, transportation, technology, and natural resources.
Prior to joining Midwest Strategy Group, Mike served as Legislative Director in the Michigan House of Representatives. He oversaw all sponsored legislation from the drafting and introduction through the committee process and final passage. Mike also created and managed all constituent contact lists and office publications including district newsletters and social media.
Mike has run several political campaigns on the state and local level. He was responsible for campaign finance reporting, literature designs, volunteer management and communications strategy development including media buys for television and radio ads.
Mike was selected to join research fellows from the University of Michigan to explore trends in healthcare public policy and how they affect individuals, providers, and governments with the Center for Healthcare Research and Transformation. He was also appointed by the Governor to serve on the 21st Century Advisory Council, an initiative to ensure Michigan stays current on issues of technology as it pertains to government performance. The Council was charged with providing feedback to the Michigan Chief Information Officer regarding the expectations of Michigan citizens in terms of government through technology.
Mike holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from Grand Valley State University and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Western Michigan University.
