Widely respected for his expertise in the realms of health policy, appropriations, local government, and judiciary, Dave Hodgkins is also known for his experience in issue-campaign oversight, coalition building, and public speaking.
Dave Hodgkins began his career serving in the Michigan House of Representatives where he worked as a Constituent Relations Director and Legislative Aide for two state representatives, including a former Speaker Pro Tempore. Here, he was involved in high-profile legislation and helped constituents with their needs navigating through state bureaucracy.
Prior to joining Midwest Strategy Group, Dave was a Government Relations Director for a national non-profit health organization. He led advocacy operations on a large portfolio of policy issues ranging from food access and K-12 curriculum to economic development opportunities in underserved communities.
Dave has served as an officer or board member on several coalitions and task forces around the state, often acting as a spokesperson for these organizations. In this capacity, he has helped coordinate advocacy efforts between non-profits, public and private sector companies, school districts, and government officials.
Dave earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in English from Central Michigan University. He has been recognized for Outstanding Performance in team building and persuasive communication from the Dale Carnegie Immersion Seminar and received the Award of Excellence for Health Strategies from the American Heart Association.
